What Happens if You Get Sick Before Your Photo Session?

I’ve been dealing with a super cuddly, but very sick toddler this week and it got me to thinking. I’ve never really shared my photo session sick policy and thought I’d make just a quick post about it!

“What happens if I, or someone else in my family, get sick leading up to my session?”

I will generally touch base with you a few days leading up to your session to check in. Not only to see if everyone is healthy, but also for possible weather issues and to see if you have any questions. At this time you can let me know if someone is sick and we can figure out if we should reschedule or not. I want everyone feeling as well as they can be at the session, so I will do my best to work with your schedule to find a better time for all of us if we do need to reschedule.

“What happens if we wake up the day of our photoshoot and someone has a fever?”

You can either email, call, or text me and we will find a time to reschedule. Fevers are when we are most contagious and I do not want to risk anyone’s health just for photos. I am flexible and I will work with you to find another time.

“What if you are sick?”

If I am sick, but do not have a fever, I will let you know ASAP so you can decide what you want to do. I do not mind wearing a mask even if we are outdoors just to be safe, so don’t feel bad requesting that from me! If I am sick, and am not feeling well enough to do the photoshoot, I will reach out and let you know ASAP so we can reschedule. Same goes for if I have a fever.

“Will I lose my session fee?”

No. You will not lose your session fee if someone is sick. That is out of our control and I’m a mom so I understand that this happens sometimes! I will work with your schedule to find a day and time that works for both of us to get you your family photos. Can I guarantee it’s the ideal time for you? No, it all depends on how many sessions I have scheduled, but I will do my best to accommodate you!

I hope this helps ease your mind that I will absolutely work with you to reschedule if someone is sick. Like I said, I’m a mom and I know how hard it can be to have to change around every scheduled activity when a kiddo gets sick. It’s not fun. But I am here for you and I will try my hardest to make this the easiest thing to reschedule.
