My goal is to provide a unique, classic, boutique experience to all families attending a school that has chosen Emmy & Ollie Photography to photograph their students.
Fine Art School Portraits in Southeastern Michigan
I only take on a select number of Ann Arbor and Metro Detroit area schools so I'm able to provide high quality artistic images while creating a fun and sometimes silly environment for children to be themselves. My approach is more personal than large, corporate photography operations, without compromising on professionalism, quality, or time. Overall I provide a better experience for both the schools and the families (and children) I work with.
I will never force a smile (though they tend to come out around me), make anyone get into an awkward pose, or give up on a tough nut to crack. The goal for these portraits is to showcase each unique, authentic, quirky, fun child with a timeless photo gallery that are far from the traditional cheesy photos we have become accustomed to with bright flashes and unflattering, busy backgrounds. I provide a calm but fun experience for your children and love the opportunity to provide an environment where kids can relax and truly be themselves.

School Photography FAQs
Very little. I provide everything needed for picture day and organize the flow of sessions. Schools receive clear instructions ahead of time so the process runs smoothly.
What does the school need to do?
After picture day, every family receives a private online gallery. From there, they can view the portraits and download or print their favorites. Everything is handled online for ease and convenience.
How do families get their photos?
Instead of stiff poses and forced smiles, these portraits are relaxed and timeless. Each child gets several images to choose from, and families can select the ones they love best.
How is this different from traditional school photography?
I photograph individual student portraits, group or class photos, and staff images. My approach is simple, natural, and designed to capture kids as they really are.
