I love that I get to be part of the journey for each family I work with, and capture their joy, excitement, sweet cuddles, and pure love. It's an honor to be chosen to photograph such a brief blip of a family's life and I don't take that for granted. Instead of blithering on about how happy I am to be a family photographer, I want to walk you through my process, show you some of my work, and let you decide if you think we'd be a perfect fit.
The families I connect with best are ones that love going on adventures, having new experiences, and aren't afraid of an honest photo showing exactly who they are as a family. Scrunched noses, wispy hairs, silly faces and all. Those moments in between, the ones where you show who you really are, those are the moments I love to capture. And those are the moments my families love to see in their albums and on their walls.

Family photos should not be a bore OR a chore. My goal with every session is for everyone to have a fun time, be themselves, go explore, and forget about the camera. Yes we'll stop at times for the perfect photo, but for the most part it's an adventure that everyone enjoys.

I have a prep guide I send to every family with info on what to wear (or what not to wear), what activities we might get up to during the session, and tutorials on how to use my gallery software. And I'm always here to help between booking and the session!

Fall is busy busy busy for photos, everyone loves the changing colors (and a lot of people realize they haven't booked their annual session yet so they scramble). It's my favorite season, but not easy for family photos.
Fall
Summer is probably one of the easiest times for photos. Most kids are out of school, there are SO many activities to choose from, and the light (especially golden hour) is amazing for photos.
Summer
This is the quintessential time for photos in my opinion! Yes the weather is still unpredictable, but the flowers are AMAZING and there are so many beautiful spots for photos!
Spring
I LOVE LOVE LOVE winter light. It's so beautiful and can create the most dreamy photos, but you know, it's cold. It's also wildly unpredictable. Indoor is a safe bet during the cold months, but I'm willing to get chilly if you are!

Ok but whEN should we book?
YES! I do! The number of people is not limited for each of my family sessions, however if you have a large family and each family unit also wants photos, you may want to consider adding extra time to your session.
I. LOVE. CHASING. KIDDOS! It's one of my favorite things to do. No, seriously! I find it so fun seeing the world through their eyes, and getting those natural smiles. So make sure to relax, I've got the reigns, all you need to do is smile and have fun!
Great question! I will typically have your photos ready within 2-3 weeks. You can always let me know if you need them sooner than that and I can see what I can do.
Don't worry, this happens all the time. If we need to reschedule due to weather, I will work with you to find a good solution. If you are unable to change dates, then we may consider changing locations. I have suggestions for great indoor spots, but I'm also not afraid of a little rain (and neither is my camera, ask me how I know).
